We organized the fourth edition of our Crea Talks event series, which we have previously held as sector-specific events, on 14 February 2025, at METU Design Factory. At our event, we talked about Creative Industries and METU Crea, the melting pot of the focus sectors of the ECITE Project, namely gaming, next generation visual storytelling and wearable technologies.
The opening speech of METU Design Factory Director Prof. Dr. Arzu Gönenç Sorguç was followed by our first session, titled “What is METU Crea?”. In this session, Prof. Dr. Arzu Gönenç Sorguç, ODTÜ Teknokent Business Development and Marketing Director Fatih Al, ECITE Project Key Expert Nihat Baran Menteş and ECITE Project Creative Management Expert Baran Can Turan shared valuable insights on METU Crea.
After a short break, Videographer and Lecturer Süleyman Demirel, Fatih Al and Dr. Serkan Alkan talked about GİSAM, ATOM and METU Design Factory respectively, as well as their roles in METU Crea. After a short tour of the Design Factory, guided by Inst. Dr. Barış Yazıcı, our Keynote Speaker Hayri Çölaşan took the stage and shared his great takeaways with us.
After providing our participants with an opportunity to network and exchange knowledge at Crea Café, we continued with our second session, titled “What are the Creative Industries?” featuring Hayri Çölaşan, Inst. Dr. Barış Yazıcı, Lecturer Süleyman Demirel and Fatih Al as our speakers.
After all these speeches, our participants socialized with each other and had a fun competition against each other with the Pop Quiz, which has become a METU Crea classic. Then, our participants took the stage away in the Open Mic session.
