Within the scope of “Gaming, Wearable Technologies and Next Generation Films. Economic Development through Creative Industries” (ECITE) project, funded by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye, contracted by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and implemented by Middle East Technical University, the first info day was held on 16.02.2024 at CerModern.

Creative industry professionals, freelancers and student groups operating in the fields of Gaming, Next Generation Film and Wearable Technologies came together at “METU Crea Information Days – Ankara”.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Verşan KÖK, Rector of Middle East Technical University. Prof. Kök stated that METU, will host an important umbrella organization for SMEs, micro-enterprises and entrepreneurs in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem with ECITE project and METU Crea brand, and through METU Design Factory, ATOM and GİSAM with their renewed infrastructures, consultancy and training opportunities will be offered on product development and commercialization, increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of the creative sectors on the global stage.

During the event, the Project Team Leader Rasmus Wiinstedt TSCHERNING, METU Design Factory Director Prof. Dr. Arzu Gönenç SORGUÇ, Entrepreneur and Experience Designer Yakup BAYRAK and the project’s sector experts Dr. Leyla Türker, Dr. Serkan Şavk and Nihat Baran Menteş also gave presentations and speeches.
